Project Description

We were contractor’s designer for 5.6km of standard single carriageway national secondary road, 2km of various single carriageway road realignments, various major / minor priority junctions, access tracks, culverting and re-alignment of river streams, fencing, safety barrier systems, drainage and earthwork, including areas of soft ground. The cross-section is a standard single carriageway which incorporates a 7.3m carriageway with 2.5m hard shoulders and 3m grass verges.

The design speed is 100km/hr. T-junctions were used to accommodate local roads and a right/left staggered ghost island junction is in place at Dalystown, providing priority to N52 traffic. An overbridge was constructed to carry the Dunboden Road (LS-5129-0) over the new N52. The scheme traverses the townlands of Rochfort Demesne, Paslicktown, Carrick, Walterstown, Higginstown, Dalystown, Calverstown & Clonfad.
