Project Description

The Clonshaugh Road Improvement Scheme, located between the western end of the Belcamp Lane (N32) and Oscar Traynor Road, adjacent to the Northside Shopping Centre. The total length of the scheme was 1,700m. The scheme was undertaken in various phases and under different procurement methods.

The project initially included the 1km upgrade of two-way single carriageway urban road. The upgrade included the design of cycle tracks, footpaths, road drainage, upgrading of existing public lighting, traffic calming, road signs, road markings and a controlled pedestrian crossing point. The site for the scheme was restricted with high levels of traffic management to maintain traffic flows during construction, for both local access and trough traffic.
