Project Description

The Foxrock Church to Dun Laoghaire DART Station QBC & Cycle track scheme provides for improved priority for buses, improved facilities for cyclists and pedestrians, and significant footpath and junction improvements including mobility impaired and disabled facilities.

The total length of the scheme is 3km and includes the upgrade of five signalised junctions and two stand-alone pedestrian crossings, signalisation of one T-junction, provision of approximately 1.5km of bus lanes, traffic calming on side roads and significant footpath improvements. The scheme also included the linking of the signalised junction to Dublin City Council’s signal control system (SCATS) and also provision of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) ducting to allow for the future provision of real-time passenger information at bus stops.

We are the lead designers for the scheme. Duties have included Public Consultation and liaison with scheme stakeholders and completion of Preliminary & Detailed Design of all the works, Contract Procurement & Award, undertaking the role of Client’s Representative and PSDP, and Contract Administration under the new forms of government contract.
